Lexington Kentucky Study Center

Lodges and Study Centers
Our local groups are broken down into lodges and study centers. Lodges are formally organized groups consisting of at least seven members of the Society who meet regularly to study Theosophy and to present Theosophical programs for the public. Study Centers are less formal groups consisting of at least three members of the Society who also meet regularly to study Theosophy and who may offer occasional public programs. For information on how to facilitate your group, contact the national secretary.

Districts
All lodges and study centers are also grouped into larger districts to help organize and connect local members. Each district is directed by two board members.

In some parts of the country, local groups and individual members join together in a voluntary association called a Federation. Members of a Federation meet occasionally for study, special programs, the exchange of ideas, and for fellowship.

Florida:
The purpose of the Florida Federation is to strengthen existing Florida lodges, encourage close cooperation among them, aid in the formation of new lodges, facilitate the exchange of ideas among lodges, form study classes in the Federation area, arrange for the interchange of Federation lecturers, and to cooperate in the selection and routing of national lecturers.

Midsouth:
The Midsouth Federation consists of members of the Theosophical Society in America who live in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Midwest:
The Midwest Federation (MWF) consists of members in the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.

The purpose of the MWF is to cultivate and enhance the Theosophical life of members scattered throughout our fourteen-state area through an annual meeting held each April, usually at the Ozark Theosophical Camp & Education Center in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas.

Northeast:
Membership in the Northeast Federation includes all branches, study centers, and members-at-large located in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington DC.

The prime objective of The Northeast Federation is to promote, create and maintain communication, cooperation, and solidarity among branches, study centers, and members at large within the Northeast Federation states. The Northeast Federation offers financial support to developing study centers, and sponsors lecture tours as well as our annual program at Pumpkin Hollow Retreat Center.

Northwest:
Membership in the Northwest Federation is open to members residing in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. An associate membership is available to members of the Canadian Theosophical Association residing in the province of British Columbia.

Texas:
The Texas Federation is comprised of members living in the state of Texas, and also includes the Austin Study Center, Dallas Study Center, Houston Lodge, Houston Vietnamese Study Center, New Braunfels Study Center, San Antonio Lodge, and West Houston Study Center.
